About

We will show up, be present, respect you and deliver with hope, integrity and purpose.

Veritable is owned and operated by Sophie Staughton and Bruce Owens. Bruce and Sophie are committed to high quality, human-rights informed and person-centred services in remote Australia. They have both lived and worked in remote Aboriginal communities and have extensive experience in working cross-culturally.

Sophie Staughton is the CEO and founder of Veritable. She is a registered social worker and resident of Central Australia since 2006. Sophie has many years experience working with individuals who face challenges in being heard and having their rights enabled. She has a detailed knowledge of contemporary disability and mental health best practice standards and planning that is client-centred and rights-based.

Sophie’s leadership of the team of Veritable practitioners is based on a philosophy of care and heart-centred practice. By caring for staff, valuing their skills and talents, and fostering a commitment to ethics and quality service, Veritable practitioners are supported to do their best work and grow in their professional practice.

Sophie has been a joint author in peer-reviewed articles on behaviour support in Australia and social work in remote Australia. Her articles can be found online at the links below.

More broadly, Veritable is committed to continuous improvement in the delivery of its services. Through development of its staff, reflective practice, and improvements in how it offers services, Veritable has become a leader in remote Australia in specialist NDIS services.
